Safe Routes to Schools

PAT works through area schools to offer students and parents safety education and activities that encourage students to walk or bike. We also apply for transportation grants to help fund street improvements to make biking and walking to school more attractive and safe.

Specific activities and events have included: Walk-to-School day events (October each year), bike rodeos with safety obstacle courses, neighborhood forums, incentive-based contests like bike commuter challenges, and community projects like the outdoor student-driven mural at Mile High Middle School.
